How are we sustainable
Here at Dènevos we made a conscious choice to only use a primary base of sustainable fabrics to reduce the impact on our planet as much as possible. Our definition of sustainable materials is anything which can be produced without depleting non-renewable resources or disturbing our environment in a manner that impacts key natural resources.
A core base material that we use across our product range is Organic Cotton, this fabric is free from the use of pesticides and rayon which for those who don't know is traditionally made from purified cellulose fibres which are created from wood pulp.
We only work with manufacturers with approved GOTS certified garments & home-wear Manufacturing Company (for 100% organic apparels and home textile products). A deciding factor for us to only Organic cotton produces around 46% less CO2e compared to conventional cotton and is a sustainable material since it can be grown. It also uses far less water to grow since organic cotton growers typically utilise rain far more than irrigation.
By using sustainable fabrics many consumers typically see a dramatic increase in the price point which for those who want to make a difference but are 'out-priced' can create a financial barrier. To combat this challenge we work closely with our suppliers to ensure that we're maximising the yields on our fabrics and run shorter runs of products, meaning there is scarcity within our collections but we model that on our price points ensuring we remain attainable for the majority.
Sustainability has always been at the heart of everything we do at Dènevos. Our garments are already made from premium, sustainable fabric and materials but we realised this was not enough. We want to do more for the environment and the planet because we recognise we do not have a second planet. There is no point in looking good, if the environment around us is suffering. Hence our partnership with One Tree Planted.
“Working with One Tree Planted is a great fit for Dènevos,” said Dènevos founder and Chief Executive Officer, Ben Evans. “Sustainability is at the core of our business model, it’s great to have another way to give back and help the environment.”
For every review posted on Reviews.io Dènevos will plant one tree.
The objectives of this new partnership include:
- Supporting global reforestation efforts
- Empowering consumers with sustainable actions
- Raising awareness about the importance of ecosystem restoration
Planting trees is one of the best ways to combat the damaging effects of climate change. Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80 percent of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity. Trees also provide tremendous social impacts by providing jobs to over 1.6 billion people, empowering women in underdeveloped nations, and supporting communities devastated by environmental damage.
